Our Alder Cones are cones harvested from black alder (Alnus glutinosa). This product produced by nature is collected exclusively in places where nature is still nature and humans have not had any harmful influences. What makes alder cones so special? The Alder Cones are excellent suppliers of the important humic and tannins. Humic substances in the aquarium ensure that plant growth is promoted (they release nitrogen, phosphorus and sulfur into the water), the pH value is mildly reduced and the water takes on a natural but crystal clear color. Just like many of our aquarium inhabitants prefer in their homeland. Even for animals that don't come from such areas, the Alder Cones have more to offer. The tannins (tannins) have the positive property of naturally inhibiting pathogens that are harmful to your animals, such as bacteria and fungal spores. The use of our Alder Cones is also ideal if you want to promote reproduction in your fish. Due to the black water effect, many animals only become ready to spawn. Due to the anti-fungal tannins, spawning fungus is largely prevented. After the little ones hatch, you can also observe that they develop and grow much better and look for infusoria on the alder cones, which serve as food. Shrimp and many other animals also like to visit the small cones to graze on them, scrape them off or hide.

Use: Add the Alder Cones directly to the aquarium water. 1 cone is sufficient for approx. 10 - 20 liters. Within a few minutes the cones sink to the bottom of the aquarium. After a short time they release their active ingredients into the water. The Alder Cones should be renewed every 2 - 3 weeks. The old cones can remain in the aquarium as additional food for crabs and shrimps or can be disposed of. Our Alder Cones have an indefinite shelf life when stored dry. Since it is a purely natural product, these may vary in shape, color and size.
