Anion adsorber for removing phosphate and silicate from aquarium water
IHO 0.5/4 is a phosphate (PO4) and silicate adsorber based on particulate iron (III) (hydr) oxide. The binding capacities for PO4 and silicate are extremely high compared to most comparable products. IHO also contributes significantly to water clarification and removes yellow and cloudy substances from the aquarium.
Properties and features:
- Very high active surface through targeted selection of the grain size fractions (500 µm - 4 mm).
- Good flowability thanks to mixed grains even when used in a filter bag.
Recommended use:
- The dosage must always be adjusted to the PO4 content:
> 0.15 mg/L : 100 g/100 L (net)
0.05 - 0.15 mg/L: 50 g/100 L (net)
< 0.05 mg/L: 20 - 30 g/100 L (net)
Before use, the PO4 content in the aquarium must be determined. Excessive use of adsorbers can lead to increased coral mortality! The appropriate amount of IHO is filled into a suitable filter bag and closed. Washing is not necessary as the material is pre-washed. An acute red color and cloudiness of the water is harmless. The filter bag must be placed in a place in the aquarium or technical tank where there is a good flow of water and should be kneaded well every 2-3 days. Use in the fluid bed process is recommended.
