Artemia Breeder
Artemia crabs are one of the most resilient and interesting life forms of all. Aquarists appreciate the great nutritional value for their fish, especially for young fish and their color development. In addition, the easy and constant availability of clean live food plays a major role in raising young fish. Artemia have existed for over 100 million years and live in their natural environment with a very high salt content. Artemia are viviparous animals under normal conditions; they only lay permanent eggs in stressful situations. For example, with an increase in the salt content in salt lakes, with increased evaporation of water to the point of drying out. Here nature has taken wise precautions so that the individual does not die out. The embryo “sleeps” in the eggshell until rainfall creates salt water again in which Artemia can awaken and a new cycle can begin. With the Artemia Breeder you can easily breed Artemia nauplii with little effort. The special design of the Breeder ensures that the artemia eggs and nauplii are gently swirled without them being able to settle in dead corners. The result is a high and optimal hatch yield. At 24°C the nauplii - as young artemia are called - hatch after about 24 - 36 hours, at 20°C after 30 - 40 hours. The egg separator reliably separates the empty egg shells from the nauplii. The reddish-colored nauplii settle on the bottom of the Artemia Breeder and can be easily removed using the feed pipette through the lid opening for subsequent feeding. An aquarium air pump, such as the Bubble Air Pump 100, is required to operate the Artemia Breeder. Also suitable for professionals.
