Calcium liquid, 1,000 ml
Supplies all lower animals with vital calcium. Particularly promotes the growth of hard corals, Tridacna mussels, calcareous tube worms and calcareous algae. Enriched with Sr, Mn, B, Ba, and other trace elements. Suitable for dosing pumps. Contains 100,000 mg Approx.
The main elements calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg) and hydrogen carbonates (HCO 3 ) have a decisive influence on the water stability (pH value, alkalinity / carbonate hardness) in the reef aquarium. In the right proportions, calcium is the most important basic building material for the limestone skeletons (aragonite) of all reef-building corals. Calcium liquid supplies calcium and trace elements in a form that is optimally biologically usable and thus supports healthy coral growth. In addition to hard corals, soft and leather corals, mussels, tube worms and algae also require a sufficient calcium concentration for their growth. The additional trace elements iron and manganese promote the formation of the important symbiotic algae (zooxanthellae), which play a key role in the calcification (skeleton formation) of the corals. Calcification takes place in the following equation: Ca 2 + +HCO 3 - -> Ca(HCO 3 ) 2 ->CaCO 3 + H 2 CO 3
Dosage: 10 ml increases the calcium content by 10 mg per 100 l. The calcium content should be between 380 mg/l and 420 mg/l. Suitable for dosing pumps.
In addition to alkalinity, calcium is one of the most important parameters in seawater aquariums and is around 390 mg/l in natural seawater. The skeletons of corals (SPS, LPS), mussels (e.g. Tridacna), algae and many invertebrates (e.g. calcareous tubeworms) are largely made up of calcium carbonates. Due to precipitation processes and the fact that calcium and magnesium are removed from the aquarium through their incorporation into the skeletons of different corals, the concentration and the ratio of trace elements to one another change in the seawater aquarium. Therefore, supplying the reef aquarium with minerals, especially the regular addition of calcium and magnesium salts as well as hydrogen carbonate, plays a crucial role. Regular addition of calcium supports healthy coral growth. Due to the different number of consumers, each aquarium has its own need for calcium, magnesium and hydrogen carbonate. The dosage should always be adjusted to this consumption. The optimal calcium content in a saltwater aquarium is between 380 and 400 mg/l.
Power Calcium and Calcium liquid supplies all calcium-forming organisms with the necessary mineral calcium and sustainably promotes healthy coral growth. By adding Power Calcium, the animals immediately have access to biologically usable calcium in the form of calcium hydrogen carbonate (Ca(HCO 3 ) 2 ). One measuring spoon increases the calcium concentration by approx. 10 mg/l per 100 liters.
