This new probiotic filter method combines effective nutrient degradation and simple operation in the smallest space.
Fauna Marin Redu pellets and the correspondingly developed NPO pellet filter are a simple and effective tool for nutrient control in aquariums and ponds. Thanks to the special construction and high quality of the pellets, the NPO pellet filter is particularly effective and material-saving.
Fauna Marin Redupellets consist of a 100% biodegradable biopolymer that has been specially developed for nutrient degradation and is also used in drinking water treatment. Fauna Marin Redupellets promote the growth of aerobic and anaerobic bacteria and ensure a controlled nitrogen cycle in the filter system. The bacteria feed on the pellets and the nutrients supplied from the aquarium. Nitrogens and phosphates are broken down equally effectively, preventing algae growth and producing bacterioplankton to feed your corals.
- uniform reduction of nitrate and phosphate
- crystal clear water even at high stocking densities
- Nutrients are converted into bacterioplankton
- 100% biodegradable
- very low carbon release, thus controlled nutrient degradation
- absolutely reef safe
- extremely effective, rapid onset of effect
- suitable for ponds and aquariums
Preparation of the pellets :
- Soak the required amount of pellets in tap water for approx. 24 hours or pour boiling water over them
- then leave them in the water for 2 hours.
- Be sure to dry pellets that are not needed again, otherwise they cannot be used again
Dosage:
- 20 - 30 ml NPO pellets per 100 liters of water and can slowly be increased to up to 100 ml NPO pellets per 100 liters of water.
- After a few days, the aquarium water may become slightly cloudy, which usually disappears on its own after a few days
- The process of nutrient breakdown also reduces the volume of the pellets
Conclusion:
- The first nutrient reductions can be measured after approx. 10-21 days. Significant nutrient reductions in the animals should be visible after approx. 8 – 12 weeks at the latest.
- You can ignore suddenly increased or unusually high measured values in the meantime - pellet filtering can influence water tests under certain circumstances and temporarily cause incorrect values to be displayed.
- Within 3-4 months at the latest, the water values will settle at a low level. Fauna Marin Redu pellets ensure a slow and even breakdown of phosphate and nitrate. The further the values in the system fall, the slower the filter works.
- Due to their high density, NPO Redupellets only break down very slowly and you need significantly fewer pellets than with most products on offer
- Refill dismantled pellets regularly. Proceed as with the restart and water the pellets before use.
