Potassium is a main element - such as calcium - and is concentrated in seawater with a value of approx. 390mg/L.
K-Balance contains several different potassium compounds and two other related elements in highly concentrated form.
- Promotes growth and color development of all corals, especially SPS such as Montipora, Stylopora, Seriatopora, Pocillopora, Acropora.
- Expanded polyp image within a short time.
- Soft corals also respond very well to the dosage!
It has been widely speculated that a so-called nutrient limitation for bleaching and very light appearance of corals was the trigger for the following signs in SPS corals. Now we can say that this is certainly not and was not the case. According to our extensive tests with various aquarists, the entire coral fauna has improved very positively in color and growth after adding it for a few days.
Potassium deficiency is mainly noticeable in the following ways:
With montipores, growth stops, the color appears washed out to gray, a strong color is not possible without potassium. In the case of poccilopores and stylopores, it appears as if the coral had been exposed to air, the polyps are completely retracted, the color is light and without depth, almost grayish. Blue acropores are only washed out blue. In the case of seriatopores, the stick can dissolve from below within a few days. Turbinaria Reniformis stops growing and the coral takes care of it. In addition, all corals show generated growth until growth stops.
